About the Club
WHO WE ARE
Tanelorn is firstly a club where a group of people gather to play tabletop games. The groups of people who regularly attend have given the club it's own identity and life through organising and running demonstration games at wargames shows, tournaments, organising campaigns, writing magazine articles and many more social activities besides.
We play all sorts of tabletop games such as those from Games Workshop including Warhammer Fantasy Battle, 40K and Ancients, Warmaster, Necromunda, Mordheim but also Privateer Press' Hordes and Warmachine and Battlefront's Flames of War. We even play Wyrd's Malifaux and Spartan Games Uncharted Seas!
Tanelorn Wargames Club was established in 2001.
WHEN WE MEET
We meet every Sunday in Wanstead between 6pm and 10pm.
On the last Sunday of every month we have an extended opening day where the club is open between 12 midday to 10pm.

As of January 2010, the club has moved from it's old venue of St Gabriel's Church Hall to the venue detailed below.

The easiest way to get to the venue is by car - therefore use an A to Z, SatNav, GPS or look us up on any of the internet map sites! Otherwise the closest London Underground Station is Leytonstone on the Central Line which is literally a 5 minute walk away from the club venue.
There is limited parking at the venue. However there is off street parking close to the venue. Should you attend the club for a tournament or event, then we would suggest that you park in either the Iceland carpark (opposite KFC) or the Primark carpark. Both of these are Pay and Display public car parks. Costs for parking at these car parks TBC.
There is a licensed bar at the venue which serves alcohol, soft drinks and beverages at a subsidised cost.
HOW MUCH DOES ALL THIS COST?
The club operates a policy of paying for the table that you play on. This fee goes towards the payment for the hire of the hall, club public liability insurance, web site costs, scenery and board replenishment. Occasionally we even let you off paying any fees!
Your first game at the club is ALWAYS free.
If you don't play you DO NOT pay any table fees.
It costs £20 to join the club (pro rata) for a year (thats £5 per quarter).
Table fees are £2 for each player on club nights for club members only and £5 for each non club member. Table fees are collected on a weekly basis at the club.
The club does try to subsidise events for club members - such as a their own tournament where club members attend the club run tournament.
The club committee are always looking at membership benefits that club members can enjoy. In 2010 those were Tanelorn club dice.
